On February 16, One Law Partners entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Lee, Hong, Degerman, Kang & Waimey (LHDK&W), a U.S.-based law firm with extensive experience representing Korean companies in the United States.
 

As the Korean legal market continues to globalize and legal services increasingly involve both Korean and foreign law issues, clients are demanding more sophisticated cross-border legal support. In response to these changes, One Law Partners conducted extensive reviews and discussions with several international law firms and ultimately selected LHDK&W as its strategic partner for the U.S. market.
 

Founded in 1991 by Korean-American equity partners, LHDK&W has approximately 40 attorneys and maintains its headquarters in Los Angeles, with an additional office in Orange County and planned expansions into Alabama and Georgia. Since its establishment, the firm has focused on advising and supporting Korean businesses entering and operating in the United States. Its practice has expanded beyond the U.S. West Coast to cover clients throughout the United States as well as Europe, serving numerous Korean corporations and financial institutions.
 

In selecting LHDK&W as its partner, One Law Partners considered several key factors, including the firm's recognized expertise in U.S. corporate advisory and litigation matters, its extensive experience assisting Korean companies with international business operations, and the active involvement of Korean-American attorneys in leadership positions who possess a deep understanding of both Korean language and culture.
 

The two firms plan to strengthen their collaboration through joint client development initiatives and coordinated legal services. As a first step, they have agreed to establish a Joint International Arbitration Team to address the growing demand for international commercial arbitration arising from cross-border contracts and transactions.
 

By combining the strengths of Korean and U.S. legal professionals, the Joint International Arbitration Team will provide more effective and sophisticated representation in international arbitration proceedings conducted in major arbitration venues, including the United States, Singapore, and Paris. This partnership is expected to offer Korean companies seamless legal support that bridges the strengths of both Korean and international law firms.
 

Immediately following the signing ceremony, One Law Partners and LHDK&W jointly hosted a seminar entitled “Practical Uses of International Arbitration for Businesses.” The seminar provided practical guidance on important issues that companies should understand when negotiating contracts and addressing cross-border disputes through international commercial arbitration.
